The label was launched in 2002 and grew from a love of blankets and the memories they evoke; childhood winter evenings wrapped in soft wool in front of an open fire. Moving to Ireland and living in a traditional stone cottage re-kindled such memories and a new love affair with blankets from some of Irelands traditional mills. Six months later, the concept of using them to create contemporary handbags was born. The collection developed through the hunt for ever more contemporary blanket fabrics, which led to collaborative work with companies such as Avoca and Melin Tregwynt in Wales. More recently, collaboration has led to working with some of Ireland and Englands most innovative fashion, textiles and jewellery designers. All bags are produced by hand in our County Leitrim studio, they are created from the finest fabrics and are all part of a very limited run. Each bag contains Irish lavender within the lining to enhance everyday use.
