Our company began life when our Managing Director, a keen amateur naturalist, had a hunch that formicariums (Ant Farms) would be a popular educational product with children; at the time no such product was available in the UK market.

He set about designing and manufacturing his own kit, Ant World, that launched on the market in 1996. Fortunately the gamble paid off and from humble beginnings based in his garage, Interplay grew rapidly to become the British Toy Industry’s leading Science and Nature supplier.
