The Vending Corporation Ltd |
The Vending Corporation is a major force in the UK Vending market and maintains a substantial presence in other European countries. Founded in 1976 under its original trading name of Polyvend Ltd, the Vending machine company was instrumental in developing the European market for snacks and confectionery merchandisers.
It is estimated that the majority of the snack and confectionery machine park in the UK has been supplied by The Vending Corporation either directly to major accounts or via other Vending wholesalers and operators. In mainland Europe the company's business is mostly conducted through distributors. Apart from supplying equipment under the Polyvend brand the company is heavily involved in providing 'own label' snacks machines built to the specification of other well-known Vending companies including 24 Seven, Four Square Drinks, Bunzl Vending Services, Provend Services and Kenco.
For many years Polyvend machines have been produced for the specific use of major international snack food companies including Mars, Procter & Gamble, Nestle, Kraft Jacobs Suchard and Pepsico Snackfoods. In recent years the Vending machine company has expanded its activities into related areas such as ice cream, frozen food, and soft drinks Vending.
To reflect this diversity Polyvend changed its name on May 1st, 2001 to that of its holding company The Vending Corporation. The name Polyvend continues as a brand under The Vending Corporation banner together with other major brands including, ccini, Fastcorp and Dixie-Narco for which The Vending Corporation is the U.K./European distributor.
Innovation has played a key role in The Vending Corporation's growth which has led to the development of new Vending markets for products as diverse as videos, swimwear and computer supplies. Utilising a unique robotic merchandiser the company is actively involved in establishing Vending programmes for ice cream companies owned by, among others, Unilever and Nestle.
The recent launch of Dixie-Narco's BevMax glassfront bottle and can vendors bring a new dimension to soft drinks Vending.
Vending is now claimed to be the fastest growing retail channel in the U.K. The Vending Corporation's combination of equipment, experience and expertise attracts brand managers from many sectors looking for new routes to market. The company is keen to evaluate other equipment or systems complementary to its existing range and applicable to its U.K. or mainland European markets.
