The SDV77-BD is another pioneering design by Nextbase, with its tablet, top loading mechanism and 7 inch screen.

Measuring only 37mm thick, it is perfectly suited to being used on the move, on a headrest or around the home. Furthermore there is a simple picture frame style stand on the back of the player, which can be used to stand the player up on a hard surface.

A catch on the right hand side of the player flips up the screen, enabling DVDs to be easily changed, even by young children. Most DVDs will automatically load, but there is a slim line remote control included in the pack for extra features. There are also buttons to control the DVD, below the screen itself.

On the side of the unit there is a power input, power on/off switch, coaxial socket, audio in/out, video in/out, headphone output, volume, colour and brightness controls.

On the back of the player there is an AV in/out switch, which allows the player to be connected to a TV and used like a normal home DVD player. As well as being a superb DVD player the SDV77-BD can be used as a screen for camcorders, cameras and any device with a phono output. It is also possible to link two players together, allowing the same movie to be watched on both screens, ideal for keeping two children happy in the car.

Included in the pack is a rechargeable, nickel metal hydride (Ni-MH) battery. This gives over 3 hour ’s playback as well as providing the unit with a sturdy stand when clipped onto the base of the player.

This is the very latest SDV77'D' version of this player, which plays the DivX formats as well as DVD/ SVCD/ VCD/ CD/ MP3 and JPEG.
