The company was created out of a research project of two audio professionals, to create a miniature loudspeaker capable of outperforming a system many times its size. The result, released some four years later, was a micro monitor of unsurpassed technical and musical excellence called Xen. Initially launched to great acclaim in the professional arena, Xen soon started to attract a strong following from audiophiles. The first review of Xen in Sound-On-Sound magazine, rated it as the best miniature speaker ever tested by the reviewer. Due to its diminutive dimensions and stunning performance, Xen also proved popular with home theatre enthusiasts, prompting the company to develop the SPLX subwoofers.
