This post is on behalf of a UK national charity we do some pro-bono work for.

As most do, they use tens of thousands of plastic donation bags every year, dropping them at people’s homes to ask for donations of clothes.

They are talking with us about a more environmental friendly, and sustainable alternative which will be linked to a piece of technology under development which is nearly ready to launch, enabling donors to click on an app to have their donation scheduled for collection from their home or workplace.

What we are asked to source is a re-usable bag that is strong enough to last a year (not for ever, the bag will be sponsored one year at a time!). It must be made of environmentally friendly material, and sourced from a manufacturer with CSR credentials (no sweatshops!)

75 litre
Zip fastener
Material must accept print (for the sponsorship)
The project will run this way
Sample bags for approval FOC
500 piece order to test consistency of production
5,000 to 10,000 order to trial app and process in 1 town
Up to 1,000,000 bags within 5 years (figures based on their current usage)

If the project is a success we can roll it out to other charities, these figures are only for one national charity

Prices should be landed UK or ex-works and very competitive – this is the charity sector😊
