We are a family-owned and run company, established in 1982 by partners Ben and Diana Porter. Ben and Diana became interested in walking sticks after buying a house situated in a small woodland in Somerset, England in the 1970s. The woodland was characterised by the natural regeneration of a particularly straight variety of ash; the perfect raw material for traditional English country sticks. Originally these sticks were harvested and sold to manufacturers of walking sticks. Soon the business expanded to selling the finished walking sticks to local retailers, and then to supplying a wide variety of walking sticks to retailers throughout England and beyond.
